Sweet and spicy, this salmon is full of delicious, healthy flavor!
Ingredients
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground ancho chili powder
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
Instructions
  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Combine the first 6 ingredients in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture evenly over the flesh side of the salmon fillets. Place fillets on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
  3. Cook the fish about 6-8 inches under the broiler for 5-6 minutes or until fish is just cooked through and flakes with a fork.
  4. Brush the fillets evenly with maple syrup; broil for 1 more minute.
Notes
I usually only use half the rub mixture and save the rest in a tightly covered container to use the next time.
Cooking time will depend on the thickness of your fillets. If you have thick fillets, you may want to bake the fish at 450 degrees for 6-8 minutes before broiling to avoid burning the spice rub.
